Automaker GAC has supplied Xinhua News Agency with official service vehicles to facilitate reporting during the current football World Cup in Mexico. The selected models, GAC AION UT and GS7, are intended to provide reliable mobility and ample space for the journalists from China's leading national news agency.
Xinhua's reporters cover significant portions of their work on the move, traveling between stadiums, media centers, and team hotels. The GAC vehicles are presented as mobile offices, offering a quiet environment for organizing footage and preparing for interviews. The AION UT is said to accommodate camera equipment and live broadcast technology, while the GS7 provides a comfortable interior for respite under pressure.
GAC has been expanding its presence in the Mexican market, with its range of 10 models gaining popularity among local consumers. Sales data from JATO for January to May shows that GAC's AION ES and AION UT ranked among the top ten best-selling battery electric vehicles (BEV) in Mexico.
Mexico remains a strategic core market for GAC's global expansion. The company has previously established a sports marketing partnership with the Mexican football club Toluca FC, and plans to evolve its sports strategy towards a fully integrated sports ecosystem.
