Ahead of the anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI, users on community forums are developing technical workarounds to apply PC-based AI upscaling to console gameplay. The proposed method involves routing a PlayStation 5 video signal through a capture card to a PC, where open-source software like Veyra processes the feed.

The tool applies neural rendering to upscale the 30 fps console output, theoretically boosting the frame rate to 90 fps through AI-generated frames. This experimental setup aims to simulate the visual fidelity typically reserved for PC graphics cards on console-exclusive titles.

Demonstrations using the game’s promotional trailer indicate that while the process clarifies background elements and lighting, it also introduces visual artifacts. Observers noted that the upscaled footage suffers from a loss of contrast and the 'soap opera effect' common in frame-interpolation technologies. The practice remains a niche hobbyist effort, as the title currently lacks a native PC version.
