Gaming Platform Matiks Secures $10 Million for Global Expansion
Social puzzle gaming startup Matiks has raised $10 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst to support international growth and AI development.

Indian gaming platform Matiks has raised $10 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst. The round included participation from upGrad founder Ronnie Screwvala and existing investors such as Info Edge Ventures and Tanglin Venture Partners. This follows a $3.14 million round raised by the company in August last year.
Founded in 2024, the platform hosts social games centered on mathematics, logic, and memory. According to the company, the platform reached 2.2 million users as of September 2026, with approximately 300,000 daily active players. The startup plans to use the new capital to prioritize expansion into the U.S. market and other tier-one regions.
CEO Sudhanshu Bhatia stated that a significant portion of the funding will be directed toward building an AI-powered engine designed to enable users to develop and publish games without traditional coding skills. The company aims to position mental sports as a culturally significant category alongside physical e-sports.
The investment reflects a broader shift in the Indian gaming industry, which is moving away from real-money gaming toward social and skill-based platforms. Analysts project the Indian gaming market could reach $9.9 billion by 2031, attracting substantial capital into homegrown studios.
