Gan & Lee and Menarini Partner for Bofanglutyide Development in Europe
Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals and Menarini Group have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement for the development and commercialization of bofanglutyide in Europe. The deal includes responsibility for Phase 3 clinical trials and marketing authorization applications.

Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals, based in Beijing, and the international biopharmaceutical company Menarini Group, headquartered in Florence, Italy, announced on September 3, 2026, the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement for the development and commercialization of bofanglutyide in Europe.
Under the terms of the agreement, Menarini will lead the execution of Phase 3 clinical trials and pursue marketing authorization applications for bofanglutyide within the European Union and other designated territories. Gan & Lee has previously developed the drug, which is intended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Bofanglutyide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist designed to help lower blood glucose levels and aid in weight management. Gan & Lee has already secured regulatory approval for the drug in China.
The partnership represents a strategic move for Gan & Lee to expand global access to its therapies, leveraging Menarini's extensive European infrastructure and experience in bringing new treatments to market.
