Ganter Expands Indexing Plunger Line with Specialized Tips
Ganter Norm has introduced seven new indexing plunger variants within its GN 81700 series. These new tips are designed for specific applications and are made from various materials.

Ganter Norm, a manufacturer of standard components, has expanded its GN 81700 indexing plunger product line by adding seven new tip designs. These additions aim to address specific industrial needs, offering solutions for protecting sensitive surfaces, damping vibrations, and ensuring precise positioning.
The new indexing plungers feature enhanced functionalities compared to previous models. For instance, the rounded tip made of glass fiber-reinforced PPA plastic (type KA) is designed to avoid marking delicate surfaces while its metallic part ensures a positive engagement. A brass pin tip (type MA) offers smooth operation and gentle contact with surfaces.
Further additions include a self-centering conical tip (type SB) for easier alignment and navigation over raised areas. The spherical tip (type SC) ensures reliable engagement in tapered holes and low edges. Cylindrical tip variants (types SD, SE, SF) are suitable for shallow detent bores and specialized applications, such as those with external or internal threads allowing for attachment of extensions like rods.
All indexing plungers in the GN 81700 family are available in blackened steel or stainless steel, with options for rest position and lock nuts. Ganter Norm states these components are available from stock immediately, without minimum order quantities.
