Ganter introduces spring bolt with chamfered tip for automatic engagement

Ganter, a specialist in standard components, has introduced a new spring-loaded locating pin, model GN 824, designed to address fastening challenges where traditional cylindrical engagement points are unavailable.

The pin's key innovation is its chamfered tip. When the pin encounters an edge or a groove, the tip retracts and then snaps into place, enabling quick and reliable locking. This makes the pin suitable for securely and automatically fastening elements such as transport frames, mechanisms, or covers without requiring manual intervention.

According to Ganter, the GN 824 pins are constructed from hardened stainless steel for durability. They are equipped with a threaded stud for mounting and a black plastic knob for operation. The product is available in multiple standard sizes with thread options ranging from M12 to M20. A notable design feature allows the chamfered tip to be adjusted 360 degrees, ensuring optimal engagement even on uneven surfaces.

Additionally, Ganter offers the GN 824 pin in versions (C and CK) with a detent position. This feature allows the pin to be temporarily disengaged to prevent automatic locking. The GN 724 product family utilizes the same core principle, offering various forms and mounting options.

Ganter aims to provide versatile solutions for industrial fastening and positioning needs. The new chamfered locating pin enhances the company's ability to meet demanding application requirements.
