Gareth Parker-Jones, a prominent figure in UK education, has been appointed as the founding headmaster of Wellington College International Kenya. He is slated to begin his role in September 2027, a year before the school's official opening in September 2028. Parker-Jones will also serve as Director of Education for Rendeavour, the development company behind the new institution. His wife, Amanda Parker-Jones, has been appointed as the school's Head of Teacher Development.

Wellington College International Kenya, a joint venture between Rendeavour and Wellington College, is situated in Tatu City. This marks the second Wellington College campus in Africa, following Wellington College International Lagos. The school is part of a global network of twelve "super-premium" British schools. Designed to accommodate day and boarding students aged 3 to 18, the institution aims to attract local, regional, and international families.

The boarding program is set to be a cornerstone of the school's identity and student life. This offering, alongside the day school option, provides families with flexibility while upholding Wellington College's global standards of excellence. Rendeavour, a leading developer of new cities in Africa, views the school as a crucial element in attracting families, businesses, and long-term investment to the region.

"Wellington College International Kenya offers a truly world-class education in what could be considered the most beautiful environment on Earth," stated Gareth Parker-Jones regarding his new role. "Attracting a founding headmaster of Gareth Parker-Jones's calibre and experience is in itself a statement of our intentions for the school," added Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour. The objective is to create a learning community that merges Wellington College's global educational legacy with a strong local identity.
