Gareth Parker-Jones Appointed Founding Master of Wellington College International Kenya

Gareth Parker-Jones, a leading educator from the UK, has been appointed as the Founding Master of Wellington College International Kenya. He is set to begin his role in September 2027, a year before the school's official opening in September 2028. This appointment as Head of Education for Rendeavour and Founding Master for Wellington Kenya underscores the institution's ambitious vision.

Parker-Jones's wife, Amanda Parker-Jones, has been appointed as the Head of Teacher Development for the school. Wellington College International Kenya is being developed by Rendeavour, Africa's new city builder, within Tatu City, a major new urban development. The school is the second in the Wellington College Education family in Africa, joining a global network of British schools.

Parker-Jones, currently Headmaster of Rugby School, brings extensive experience, particularly in boarding education. Wellington Kenya will offer both day and boarding options for pupils aged 3 to 18. The school aims to provide a high standard of British education in East Africa when it opens in September 2028.

Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour, highlighted that attracting an educator of Parker-Jones's caliber demonstrates the company's intentions for the school. He believes Parker-Jones and his wife are ideally suited to establish one of the world's premier schools, blending Wellington's global educational heritage with a strong local identity.
