GARO adds solar charging feature to user app

Electric vehicle charging station provider GARO has introduced a new "Charge with Solar" feature within its GARO Entity User mobile application. This update allows EV owners with solar panel installations on their property to utilize their self-generated solar energy for vehicle charging.

The feature is available for owners of GARO Entity charging stations that have solar panel systems, with or without battery storage. GARO states that the functionality is currently available free of charge.

Users can select between two charging modes: solar-only charging, which exclusively uses electricity produced by solar panels, or solar-priority charging, where grid electricity is automatically supplemented when necessary. "With our latest feature, Charge with Solar, we are taking another step towards even greener EV charging," said Johan-Christer Svensson, Commercial Product Manager at GARO E-mobility. "It is an excellent way to maximize the value of self-generated solar energy while contributing to a more sustainable future."

GARO is collecting data from charging sessions using the feature to further enhance its performance and functionality. "As this is a newly developed feature, user data is highly valuable for its continued development," Svensson added. The feature is accessible via the GARO Entity User app, available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
