GARO Receives Environmental Product Declaration for Cable Cabinets
GARO's low-voltage distribution cable cabinets have obtained a third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The declaration provides customers with transparent environmental data for the products' entire lifecycle.

GARO has advanced its sustainability efforts by securing a third-party verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its low-voltage distribution cable cabinets. This declaration, based on a life cycle assessment, offers customers, consultants, and procurers transparent and quality-assured environmental data for the products.
The EPD covers GARO's K2 400A, K3 400A, and K4 400A cable cabinets. These outdoor-rated cabinets are crucial for low-voltage networks in residential areas, urban environments, and industrial zones. Manufactured in Sweden, they are constructed from steel with a Magnelis® coating, ensuring high corrosion resistance and a long service life, even in demanding conditions.
The declaration details the products' environmental impact across their entire lifecycle, from raw material extraction and manufacturing to transport, installation, demolition, waste management, and recycling. This allows procurers to compare alternatives based on factual data.
"The third-party verified EPD provides our customers with transparent and quality-assured environmental data. We are accustomed to competing on quality, functionality, and price, and now also on documented sustainability performance," stated Andreas Olsson, Sustainability Manager at GARO. "By openly reporting our products' environmental impact, we enable the market to compare alternatives based on facts."
The EPD complies with EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025 standards and is available through EPD Hub and GARO's website. This development strengthens GARO's offering in a market where sustainability requirements and climate data are increasingly important in product selection.
