Gastric Cancer Organizations Partner for International Patient Education Symposium

Debbie's Dream Foundation (DDF), the Korean Gastric Cancer Association (KGCA), and National Cancer Center Korea (NCC) are organizing an international educational symposium for gastric cancer patients titled "East Meets West in Gastric Cancer." The event is scheduled for October 31, 2026, at Seoul National University Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, bringing together experts, patients, and advocates from Asia and the United States.

The symposium aims to compare the patient journey for gastric cancer across different regions. It will explore how earlier detection in countries like Korea and Japan can expand treatment options, and how Western approaches to patient education and advocacy can empower patients with greater knowledge and engagement in their care.

"Stomach cancer is a global disease, and improving outcomes requires us to learn from one another across borders," stated Amanda Pullinger, Chief Executive Officer of Debbie's Dream Foundation. She emphasized that by connecting patients, researchers, clinicians, and organizations worldwide, knowledge and progress can be shared effectively with those who need it most.

International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), Japanese Gastric Cancer Association (JGCA), and Chinese Gastric Cancer Association (CGCA) will also participate. The symposium will be livestreamed globally with planned multilingual translation into Korean, Chinese, and Japanese to facilitate broader participation for patients and caregivers.
