Gasum adjusts Swedish biogas project timelines following contractor bankruptcy

Energy company Gasum faces project delays in Sweden following the 9 October 2026 bankruptcy of its main construction partner, Lundsby Renewable Solutions AB. The Borlänge facility, which was scheduled for completion in mid-October, is now expected to enter the commissioning phase around the turn of the year.

The bankruptcy has forced a postponement of groundworks for the planned Hörby facility, while the Sjöbo site remains largely unaffected as it awaits final zoning approval. Lundsby had been responsible for both construction and planning across these developments.

Gasum is currently coordinating with remaining subcontractors to secure ongoing progress and is reviewing its procurement strategy. The company maintains that it remains committed to its wider investment program aimed at increasing renewable biogas capacity across Sweden.
