Energy company Gasum has opened its ninth liquefied biogas filling station in Norway. The station, located in Moskog Business Park in Førde, is centrally situated in the Sunnfjord municipality and aims to meet the demand for low-emission fuels from local and national carriers. The facility is also open to the public.
The Moskog station joins Gasum's expanding network along key Norwegian routes including E39, E6, E18, RV3, and RV7. The project originated as a pilot in collaboration with the Norwegian Green Land Transport Program (GLP) and grocery chain REMA, intended to accelerate the development of necessary biogas infrastructure.
According to Jogeir Munkeby, Gasum's Sales Manager for Traffic in Norway, the new station is an important contribution to reducing emissions from road transport in the region. Biogas offers a cost-effective alternative to fossil fuels, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving local air quality. Norway is working towards ambitious climate targets, making emissions reductions in the transport sector crucial.
