Gasum reports Q3 profit growth amid market volatility
Gasum improved its comparable operating profit to EUR 9.7 million in the third quarter of 2026, supported by higher sales volumes.

Gasum reported a third-quarter revenue of EUR 364.9 million, a 38.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The company’s comparable operating profit rose to EUR 9.7 million, up from EUR 0.8 million the previous year. However, total operating profit was negatively impacted by market volatility, reaching EUR -32.8 million.
CEO Mika Wiljanen noted that the period was defined by significant price fluctuations, with the European TTF gas price index rising from EUR 45/MWh to over EUR 80/MWh during the quarter. While realized hedge gains boosted the comparable operating profit, the turbulent environment complicated gas sourcing and hedging operations throughout September.
Sales volumes increased by 8% to 2.8 TWh, driven largely by demand for liquefied gas. Operations in the biogas segment faced challenges related to feedstock supply and grid connectivity. Meanwhile, the company continues to execute its "Accelerate" strategy, which includes an ongoing organizational restructuring aimed at increasing efficiency.
Gasum expects the financial impact of the Q3 hedge gains to be offset during the final quarter of the 2026 fiscal year.
