Gates Industrial Launches New Roller Belt for Warehouse Automation

Gates Industrial Corporation Ltd. has expanded its warehouse automation offerings with the launch of the Gates IntraLogix™ LRB-100 live roller belt. This new product is engineered to replace conventional fabric construction with a homogeneous polyurethane design for conveyor systems used in warehouses and distribution centers.

The new belt aims to reduce maintenance requirements and operational downtime as e-commerce volumes increase and facilities invest in more reliable fulfillment processes. The solid polyurethane construction of the LRB-100 is designed to eliminate V-guide delamination, thereby extending belt life and improving uptime for operators.

According to the company, testing indicates the LRB-100 provides over five times longer belt life compared to conventional designs. It exhibits approximately 75% less elongation, contributing to more consistent operations and reduced retensioning downtime. Abrasion resistance is reportedly 80% greater, and weld strength is approximately 24% higher than other belts used in similar applications.

Mike Haen, vice president of global product line management and marketing at Gates, stated that the new belt exemplifies the company's strategy to apply its materials science expertise to high-growth automation markets. The LRB-100 is currently available in the United States, with international availability to follow.
