Film production company Gaumont has begun shooting "La Neuvième Rotation," the first feature film from director Côme Levin. The drama stars Alice Belaïdi, known for "Un p’tit truc en plus," and Bérénice Bejo, who appeared in "OSS 117 : Le Caire, nid d’espions."
The film's narrative follows "Marina" (Belaïdi) as she commands the humanitarian vessel "Ocean Spartacus" on its ninth mission in the Mediterranean. The crew attempts to rescue over two hundred individuals adrift on makeshift boats between Libya and Malta as a storm approaches. A young boy's fate becomes intertwined with Marina's.
"La Neuvième Rotation" also features Anyier Anei, Kim Higelin, Johan Heldenbergh, Abou Sangaré, and Abraham Wapler. The production marks Levin's feature directorial debut. Gaumont has indicated the film will be released in cinemas at a later date.
