Production company Gaumont began filming its new six-part series, "Peau d’Vache," on September 22, 2026. The series, which explores the crises in the agricultural world, is produced by Gaumont in partnership with Arte France and Umedia (Belgium).
The narrative centers on Rudy, an advisor at the Chamber of Agriculture nicknamed "Peau d’Vache" by local farmers. When another drought strikes the region, Rudy is unable to prevent his childhood friend, Bastien, from facing bankruptcy. Driven to despair, Bastien takes his own life. To shield Bastien's widow, Marianne, from his debts, Rudy orchestrates the suicide to appear as an accident.
Shaken by the tragedy, Rudy begins to question the system he has always defended, while Marianne attempts to take over the farm. Bound by a shared secret, Rudy and Marianne must confront a heatwave that pushes the entire farming community to its breaking point.
The series, comprised of six 45-minute episodes, was created by Alexis Bessin in collaboration with Claude Le Pape and is directed by Louis Farge. The cast includes Alice Isaaz and Jean Chevalier, alongside Gustave Kervern and Irène Jacob. Filming is scheduled to conclude on December 11, 2026. Gaumont is a long-standing producer of film and television content.
