Sidonie Dumas, CEO of Gaumont, the venerable French film and television studio, is set to receive the 2024 International Emmy® Directorate Award. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will present the special award to Dumas at the 52nd International Emmy® Awards Gala in New York City on November 25.
Since taking the helm in 2010, Dumas has steered Gaumont through a significant strategic shift, transforming the company's primary focus from theatrical releases to television production with a strong emphasis on international expansion. Gaumont is known for its global hit series, including the Netflix productions Narcos and Lupin.
The International Academy cited Dumas's strategic vision and success in pivoting Gaumont's business model and expanding its reach across Europe and into Hollywood. The studio continues to produce local stories with international appeal, with recent and upcoming projects including the biographical series "Becoming Karl" and the German drama "The Interpreter of Silence."
