NVIDIA has announced a technology partnership with The Coalition, the developers of Gears of War: Day, highlighting the game's PC version support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

Gears of War: Day, a prequel to the series, is set 14 years before the original game. Players will experience the "Emergence Day" invasion through the eyes of young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. The game is built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12.

The PC version will leverage DLSS 4.5 for enhanced frame rates and image quality. Hardware ray tracing will accelerate Unreal Engine 5's Lumen global illumination system and the new MegaLights technology, which enables hundreds of dynamically shadow-casting light sources. NVIDIA Reflex will also be integrated to reduce system latency on PC.

The game is scheduled for release on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC, including Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass day one. An open beta will be available starting August 6 for pre-order customers and PC Game Pass subscribers.
