The Coalition has unveiled a launch trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, confirming the game's official release date of October 7 for Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. The title will also be available day one with Xbox Game Pass.
PC players will experience NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 technology and hardware-accelerated ray tracing from launch, aiming to enhance visual fidelity and performance. The game utilizes Unreal Engine 5's Lumen global illumination system and a new MegaLights technology, which supports hundreds of dynamic light sources casting shadows simultaneously.
Gears of War: E-Day serves as a prequel to the series, set fourteen years before the original game. Players will step into the roles of a young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during "Emergence Day," the initial invasion by the Locust horde from underground that led to devastating human casualties.
The game is available in a standard edition for 298 CNY and a Premium edition for 428 CNY, offering up to five days of early access and exclusive cosmetic items. The PC version also includes support for alternative upscaling technologies like AMD FSR and Intel XeSS, along with Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) to minimize shader compilation stutter and load times.
