Gedeon Richter Launches New Anti-Inflammatory Drug

Gedeon Richter Plc. has launched Aertal, a new medication containing aceclofenac as its active ingredient. The drug is indicated for adults for the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation.

Aertal is prescribed for individuals aged 18 and over. It can be used for chronic joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis when accompanied by pain and inflammation. Additionally, the medication is suitable for managing acute pain and inflammation, including conditions like lower back pain, dental pain, or menstrual pain.

The active substance, aceclofenac, belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which are key mediators of inflammation. It is important to note that Aertal addresses symptoms and does not influence the progression of the underlying disease.

The drug has contraindications for individuals with severe liver or kidney impairment, gastrointestinal disorders, or cardiovascular diseases like heart failure or coronary artery disease. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as for individuals under 18 years of age, is not recommended.
