Gedeon Richter Plc. has published its 2024 annual report, highlighting record financial performance across all four of its business segments. Pharmaceutical revenues grew by 13% to HUF 845 billion, with operating profit (EBIT) increasing by 38% to HUF 261 billion. Net income rose by 51% to HUF 239 billion.
The company's CEO noted that despite significant geopolitical challenges, including regional conflict and inflation, 2024 was a successful year. Richter managed to expand global patient access to its medicines and treatments.
All four business units—Central Nervous System (CNS) and Psychiatry, Women's Healthcare, Biotechnology, and General Medicines—achieved double-digit revenue growth. Notably, Vraylar® sales increased by 18%, women's healthcare products performed exceptionally well, and both biotechnology and general medicines saw sustained double-digit growth.
Richter also expanded its operations through key business development transactions, including a co-development and license agreement with AbbVie aiming to advance novel treatments for neuropsychiatric conditions. The company established a new original research hub in Belgium to develop innovative solutions for women's health issues.
Further achievements include increased patient access, with Vraylar® usage reaching approximately 1.7 million patients since its launch, and the successful introduction of novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in multiple countries. The company also doubled its batch capacity at its biological manufacturing plant.
