Gedeon Richter's Lindinet 20 Contraceptive Pill
Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter Plc. has released patient information for its Lindinet 20 contraceptive pill. The product contains gestodene and ethinylestradiol.

Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter Plc. has introduced Lindinet 20, a combined oral contraceptive pill containing gestodene and ethinylestradiol.
The medication is designed to prevent pregnancy in adult women and adolescent girls after the onset of menstruation. Lindinet 20 works by inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to impede sperm, and altering the uterine lining to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg.
The patient information leaflet emphasizes the importance of consultation with a healthcare provider before starting the medication. It highlights that a doctor will discuss the benefits and risks associated with oral contraceptives and may conduct examinations. The leaflet also clarifies that Lindinet 20 does not protect against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
Several contraindications for taking Lindinet 20 are detailed in the patient information. These include allergic reactions to any of the ingredients, a history of or current venous or arterial thrombosis (such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, or stroke), and inherited disorders of blood coagulation. Individuals with any of these conditions are advised to consult their physician about alternative contraceptive methods.
