Geely recalls nearly 93,000 Zeekr 007 and Zeekr X vehicles
Geely's Zeekr brand is recalling 92,658 units of the Zeekr 007 and Zeekr X models due to difficulties in identifying and operating interior emergency manual release handles.

Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd. has announced a recall affecting 92,658 Zeekr 007 and Zeekr X vehicles. The recall, filed with China's State Administration for Market Regulation, addresses a safety concern related to the interior emergency manual release handles.
The affected vehicles, produced between March 1, 2023, and May 21, 2026, have release handles whose color closely matches the interior trim. This can make them difficult to identify and operate, particularly in extreme situations such as a severe collision where the vehicle's low-voltage system fails.
In such scenarios, the obscured handles could impede occupants' ability to exit the vehicle quickly or hinder rescue efforts by individuals outside the car. Geely plans to rectify this issue by authorizing Zeekr Smart Technology to add warning labels near the handles and to update the window control software via over-the-air (OTA) technology to include a post-accident window lowering strategy.
This action underscores ongoing efforts within the automotive industry to address safety vulnerabilities, especially those arising from design choices and complex electronic systems.
