Geely Unveils New Star Ray L PLUS Model

Chinese automaker Geely held the global premiere of its new Star Ray L PLUS on July 10. The vehicle employs a design language called "Oriental Time Aesthetics," with the L and PLUS in its name signifying upgrades in interior space and overall product capability.

The car continues Geely's family design language, featuring a signature front grille with 31 vertical bars. The headlights, named "Qiming Chunxiao · Double Lens," incorporate a diamond-cut lens module. The roof is equipped with a LiDAR sensor, suggesting significant improvements in driver assistance systems compared to the current Star Ray L.

The car measures 4956mm in length, 1915mm in width, and 1505mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2845mm. It will be offered in seven exterior color options, including Long Day Silver, Dusk Mountain Purple-Gray, Maple Forest Crimson, Clear Autumn Jade White, Autumn Water Long Blue, Pine Wind Dark Green, and Distant Mountain Solid Ink, achieved through multi-layer paint processes for enhanced light and shadow effects.

The interior utilizes ample mock-suede material and comes in color schemes like Zhu Xian Black and Warm Autumn Rice. The center console design integrates landscape elements, complemented by ambient lighting for a refined cabin atmosphere. The vehicle features the Flyme Auto infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a HUD combining three screens for information linkage. An EVA intelligent physical robot enhances human-machine interaction, and the seats include comfort features such as multi-point massage.

Registration details indicate three powertrain options: a 1.5T gasoline engine, a 2.0T gasoline engine, and a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system. The 1.5T gasoline engine produces a maximum of 148kW, the 2.0T engine produces 200kW, and the 1.5T hybrid system's engine outputs 120kW. The Star Ray L PLUS is expected to offer enhanced performance in energy efficiency, ride comfort, safety, smart features, and handling quality.
