Geely Unveils Starburst L PLUS: A Large Hybrid SUV
Geely Auto has released a preview video of its upcoming Starburst L PLUS model. The vehicle is positioned as a large, flagship smart hybrid SUV and will feature lidar hardware.

Chinese automaker Geely Auto released a preview video in late August for its new Starburst L PLUS model. The vehicle is positioned within the large, flagship segment of smart hybrid SUVs.
The preview video indicates that the Starburst L PLUS will largely adopt the established design language of the Starburst L family. It features a prominent waterfall-style grille and extensive chrome accents on the front bumper area. Notably, the vehicle will be equipped with lidar hardware, according to earlier filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The side profile retains a conventional design with factory-installed roof rails and traditional door handles. Chrome trim is used around the window frames, side mirror bases, and rocker panels to enhance the vehicle's layered appearance and luxury feel. The rear features a贯穿式 taillight design and a more rounded silhouette compared to the current model, with larger chrome elements further accentuating its upscale appearance.
The Starburst L PLUS has appeared in the latest "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." Two fuel-electric hybrid versions and two purely gasoline versions have been declared, all with a 5-seat layout. The dimensions are consistent across all variants: 4955 mm in length, 1960 mm in width, and 1769 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. The hybrid models are powered by a 1999cc engine (160 kW) paired with a lithium-ion battery, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h. The gasoline versions feature a more powerful 1999cc engine (213 kW), achieving a top speed of 210 km/h.
