Instead of dialing themselves, users can instruct Gemini to make the call on their behalf through the Gemini app on their Pixel. Gemini will introduce itself, navigate automated phone menus, wait on hold, and then conduct the conversation with the person on the other end. Users maintain control via a live transcript view.
According to Google, this functionality is part of a broader effort to integrate AI into core phone operations, enhancing user experience and saving time. Such capabilities could reshape how individuals interact with businesses daily.
