GemologyGeek Launches Ignite Collection Featuring Rare Gemstones and Fluorescence
Erica Silverglide's GemologyGeek brand has launched the Ignite collection, showcasing rare natural gemstones and fluorescent diamonds. The collection highlights natural phenomena and uniqueness.

Jewelry designer Erica Silverglide has launched the Ignite collection through her brand, GemologyGeek, focusing on rare natural gemstones and their fluorescent properties. Leveraging over two decades of experience in sourcing and designing fine jewelry, Silverglide introduces her first signature fine jewelry collection alongside a redesigned company website.
The Ignite collection features unique rings, pendants, and earrings centered on rare natural gems, some of which exhibit optical phenomena. A key characteristic is the natural fluorescence found in certain stones, a phenomenon where a gemstone absorbs ultraviolet light and re-emits it as visible light. Silverglide emphasizes this natural occurrence as a marker of uniqueness rather than a flaw.
"Fluorescence has been a hot topic in the industry for decades, and no one has ever given a satisfying answer for why it became something to avoid," Silverglide stated. "For me it has always been about the science. The fact that a change in crystal structure so small it represents a fraction of a percent, can cause a stone to light up under the right conditions, is remarkable. That is not a flaw. That is a natural phenomenon and a genuinely rare one."
Each piece in the collection is a one-of-a-kind creation with no reproductions planned. Approximately 15 percent of minerals and gemstones exhibit fluorescence, with the phenomenon being less common in diamonds. The launch coincides with the debut of GemologyGeek's revamped website, designed to enhance customer education on gemstones.
