Gemtek, Qualcomm, gFiber Collaborate on Wi-Fi 8 Broadband Gateways
Gemtek is introducing an AI-native Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway, developed with Qualcomm and gFiber, that integrates next-generation connectivity and edge AI for home networks.

Gemtek Technology is showcasing an AI-native Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway at Network X 2026, a product developed in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and gFiber. The gateway aims to bring Edge AI and next-generation connectivity into residential settings, promising a more responsive broadband experience.
Built on Qualcomm's Dragonwing™ NPro A8 Elite Platform and powered by intelligent software from Gemtek subsidiary Genix Networks, the device serves as a home internet hub and a local platform for AI agents. It supports network optimization, device awareness, security, and proactive management. gFiber is slated to be the initial service provider to deploy the gateway.
Genix software facilitates connectivity between the gateway, devices, and the network through an AI-driven interface. Users can manage their home network and access supported services using natural-language voice commands. Processing these requests locally can enhance privacy, improve responsiveness, and reduce cloud dependency. Gemtek envisions this gateway as a redefinition of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), blending sophisticated design with user-friendly interaction.
Qualcomm provides advanced connectivity and AI platform technologies, while Gemtek leads product and AI system innovation. gFiber defines the subscriber experience and will be the first operator to deploy the device. Commercial deployments are anticipated to begin in 2027, as the partners seek to establish a new broadband model integrating technology, innovation, and user experience from the platform level upwards.
