Gemtek, Qualcomm, gFiber Integrate Edge AI into Wi-Fi 8 Broadband Gateways
Gemtek Technology, Qualcomm, and gFiber are set to launch a new Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway featuring local AI processing and next-generation connectivity at Network X 2026. The device utilizes Qualcomm's platform and software from Gemtek's subsidiary, Genix Networks.

Gemtek Technology announced a new AI-native Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm and gFiber, designed to bring Edge AI and next-generation connectivity to homes. The device, showcased at Network X 2026, promises faster response times and enhanced home network management.
The gateway is built on Qualcomm's Dragonwing™ NPro A8 Elite platform and integrates intelligent software from Genix Networks, a subsidiary of Gemtek. gFiber is slated to be the first service provider to bring the device to market. It combines Wi-Fi 8 quad-band connectivity, Edge AI processing, and smart software for an improved broadband experience.
Designed as a home internet hub and a local platform for AI, the gateway supports network optimization, device detection, security, and proactive management. Local processing aims to enhance privacy and reduce cloud dependency, allowing users to manage their home networks using natural language commands.
The collaboration aims to redefine the role of customer premises equipment (CPE), making it a more integrated and intuitive part of the home environment. Commercial deployment is anticipated for 2027, combining Qualcomm's technology, Gemtek's product and system innovations, and gFiber's customer experience design.
