Gemtek, Qualcomm, gFiber Partner on Wi-Fi 8 Gateways with Edge AI
Gemtek Technology, Qualcomm, and gFiber have announced a collaboration to develop a new Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway that integrates edge AI and next-generation connectivity for homes.
Taipei, Taiwan – Gemtek Technology has partnered with Qualcomm and gFiber to introduce a new Wi-Fi 8 broadband gateway designed to bring edge artificial intelligence (AI) and next-generation connectivity directly into households.
The new gateway, built on the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ NPro A8 Elite platform, combines Wi-Fi 8 Quad-Band connectivity with on-device AI processing. This integration aims to enhance home network performance, device detection, security, and proactive management.
The gateway features intelligent software from Gemtek's subsidiary, Genix Networks, and will be initially deployed by gFiber as the service provider. The collaboration seeks to establish a new broadband model that merges advanced technology, AI capabilities, and service experience.
Users can control their home network using natural language voice commands, with local processing intended to improve privacy and responsiveness. Commercial deployment is anticipated to begin in 2027.
