Genesis Motor China has announced a recall affecting nine imported G80 vehicles. According to China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the issue stems from a potentially loose ignition coil ground bolt, which could lead to the vehicle stalling during operation.

The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 2, 2026. The recall was filed on August 21. The company stated the problem originates from a manufacturing process where the bolt was not sufficiently tightened.

Genesis will address the safety hazard by re-tightening the ignition coil ground bolt on all recalled vehicles. This action is intended to eliminate the identified risk.

The recall highlights ongoing quality control challenges within the automotive sector. Even minor manufacturing discrepancies can pose significant safety risks for consumers.
