Georgetown Renames Global Business Program Following Alumni Gift

Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business has renamed its flagship interdisciplinary student program the Baratta Global Business Fellows. The move recognizes the ongoing financial support from alumni Joe and Abigail Baratta, intended to bolster global business education and leadership development.

The program, which serves undergraduates across the Business School, School of Foreign Service, and College of Arts & Sciences, aims to equip students to navigate a business environment increasingly shaped by geopolitical volatility, shifting trade regulations, and international policy. It emphasizes the intersection of market forces and local regulatory contexts.

Established in 2015, the program integrates coursework with experiential learning, including international consulting projects and industry engagement. According to Paul Almeida, dean of the McDonough School of Business, the Baratta family’s support has allowed for the expansion of these applied learning opportunities, ensuring students are prepared to address complex global challenges upon graduation.
