Georgia Court Dismisses Lawsuit Against HaloMD, Upholding Provider Victory
A federal court in Georgia has dismissed all claims brought by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia against HaloMD. This marks the third consecutive legal victory for HaloMD in its ongoing dispute with insurers over reimbursement rates.

A federal court in Georgia has dismissed all claims brought by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBS Georgia) against HaloMD, a company representing healthcare providers. Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. ruled on July 10, 2026, that the insurer's lawsuit was without merit and represented an attempt to circumvent prior rulings.
The court not only rejected the insurer's claims but also questioned the company’s motives behind the lawsuit. In its decision, the court noted that a high win rate for providers in dispute resolution processes is not evidence of fraud, but more plausibly indicates that insurers systematically submit low offers to maximize their profits.
This ruling marks the third similar lawsuit that insurers have lost against HaloMD and its clients. According to the company, insurers' legal actions aim to intimidate providers, impose costly litigation expenses, and force them into accepting lower reimbursement agreements.
The decision follows similar previous rulings in California and Texas, where courts have also dismissed insurers' lawsuits against HaloMD. HaloMD specializes in assisting healthcare providers with negotiating reimbursements with insurers, particularly within the framework of the No Surprises Act (NSA).
