The German Direct Sales Association (BDD) has released its latest market study, indicating that the sector's revenue in 2022 hit a record 20.33 billion euros. The study highlights that the success of direct sales relies heavily on its network of over 900,000 sales partners, who serve approximately 400,000 end customers.

The research suggests that the direct sales industry has demonstrated resilience and growth despite various market challenges. The association identifies sales partner satisfaction and commitment as key drivers for this sustained performance. A Europe-wide survey supports this, with 78 percent of respondents reporting improved interpersonal skills as a result of their direct sales work. Many also view their role as a fulfilling hobby that brings joy through client satisfaction.

Key sales channels for partners, beyond personal contacts and home parties, include social media, emphasizing the importance of personal relationships in customer engagement. The BDD also welcomed badenova, a significant energy provider in southwestern Germany, as a new member due to its utilization of direct sales methods.

Looking ahead, the BDD plans to focus on future industry challenges and opportunities, including sustainability and responsible business practices. The association also hosts an annual Direct Sales Congress, serving as a pivotal gathering for industry professionals.
