Germany's factoring industry demonstrated resilience in 2024, achieving growth despite a persistently difficult economic situation and ongoing domestic and international political uncertainties. The Deutscher Factoring-Verband e.V. reported that the sector has now recorded 14 consecutive years of turnover growth, underscoring its role as a stable financing solution for businesses.

The industry's expansion occurred amidst widespread economic instability and geopolitical tensions. In 2023, factoring turnover reached EUR 384.4 billion, a 3.1 percent increase from the previous year. While specific figures for 2024 are still being finalized, initial indications suggest the growth trend has continued.

Deutscher Factoring-Verband e.V. serves as the primary representative body for the German factoring industry. Its member companies account for over 98 percent of the factoring turnover generated by association members in Germany, making its analyses a key source of market data.

Factoring, a financial service where companies sell their outstanding invoices for immediate working capital, has proven to be a critical resource for businesses navigating uncertain economic climates. The service helps improve cash flow and manage credit risks.
