German pharmacies receive €423 for on-call services
The German Pharmacists' Association (ABDA) announced on September 14, 2023, that pharmacists will receive a flat fee of €423.32 for each full on-call service provided in the second quarter of 2023. This fee is a decrease from the previous quarter.

Pharmacists in Germany will receive a flat fee of €10.06 less for providing a full on-call service in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter. The German Pharmacists' Association (ABDA) announced that the Night and On-Call Service Fund has set the compensation at €423.32 per service for the period between April and June.
The on-call fee for the second quarter represents a decrease of €10.06, or 2.32 percent, from the €433.38 paid in the first quarter. During the second quarter, a total of 94,701 full on-call services were provided by 17,795 pharmacies across Germany.
The Night and On-Call Service Fund, which is managed by the ABDA, stated that it would transfer the corresponding fees directly to the pharmacies by the end of the week. These funds are intended to compensate pharmacies for the additional costs and efforts associated with maintaining availability outside of regular business hours.
ABDA has highlighted the importance of these on-call services for ensuring public access to medicines and pharmaceutical advice. The adjustment in the flat fee reflects ongoing evaluations of the costs associated with providing these essential services to the community.
