The German Pharmacists Association (DAV) is convening its annual economic forum in Berlin on May 14-15, 2025. The event will address the economic conditions of local pharmacies and their strategic outlook. DAV President Dr. Hans-Peter Hubmann is scheduled to present a political situation report, calling for urgent legislative action to stabilize pharmacies financially and halt the declining number of establishments.
The forum will also examine the health policy agenda of the new federal government and how it aligns with the sector's objectives. DAV Managing Director Claudia Korf and Head of Department Dr. Eckart Bauer will unveil the pharmacy economic report. The German Pharmacy Award will also be presented during the event. A panel discussion on e-prescriptions and electronic patient records (ePA) is a further planned highlight.
The gathering aims to bring together pharmacists, economists, legal experts, scientists, and journalists to exchange knowledge and discuss key industry issues. Benjamin Rohrer, Head of Communications at DAV, will moderate the proceedings.
Under the banner "Local Pharmacies - Securing Supply. Shaping the Future! What are pharmacies planning? What is the new federal government planning?", the forum seeks to foster dialogue on the future of local pharmaceutical services and their integration with governmental health strategies. The full agenda will be available on the event's website.
