German police investigate robot's alleged sexual assault on teenager
German authorities are investigating a case of alleged sexual harassment after a robot reportedly touched a 16-year-old girl. Police describe the situation as "new territory."

German authorities have launched an investigation into alleged sexual harassment after a robot, controlled by two young men, reportedly touched a 16-year-old girl and made thrusting movements toward her. The incident occurred in the western city of Cologne over the weekend.
The robot's suspected 16-year-old owner and a 19-year-old companion are alleged to have filmed the incident and streamed it online. Police are examining whether the robot's movements were pre-programmed or controlled in real time.
Cologne police spokesperson Christoph Bermel stated that the phenomenon represents "new territory" for investigators. The two young men are considered suspects but have not yet been charged. The robot and the men's mobile phones were confiscated.
The robot, approximately 120 cm tall, was reportedly dressed in clothing and accessories. Videos circulating online show the men guiding the robot through the streets, where it made sexual gestures and interacted with bystanders.
