German Private Equity Business Climate Largely Unchanged in Q1 2026
The business climate for Germany's private equity market experienced minimal change at the start of 2026. The Q1 2026 barometer indicates a slight increase in the overall sentiment.

Investor sentiment in Germany's private equity market remained largely stable in the first quarter of 2026. KfW's German Private Equity Barometer shows that the business climate indicator for the segment focusing on investments in established companies rose slightly by 1.4 points to -15.1.
The indicator for the current business situation saw a minor decrease of 3.6 points, settling at -14.7. However, the indicator for business expectations improved by 6.4 points, reaching -15.5. This suggests a cautious outlook with gradually improving expectations for the future.
The barometer, which tracks equity finance for established companies, indicates continued, albeit slight, challenges within the sector. The positive shift in future expectations could signal a potential turning point for investor confidence in the coming periods.
