Germany's federal government has approved a national pharmaceutical strategy intended to bolster the country's competitiveness in the pharmaceutical industry and ensure the reliability of drug supply chains. According to the government, Germany's attractiveness as a location for pharmaceutical research and development has diminished in recent years. The COVID-19 pandemic further exposed vulnerabilities in supply chains, particularly for essential medicines like antibiotics, highlighting the need for strategic changes.
