Ghana Extends Traffic Safety Program Rollout by One Month
The government of Ghana has postponed the full implementation of the Traffitech-GH road safety program by one month. The new expected start date for citation issuance is November 1st, 2026.
Ghana's government has extended the public awareness and education period for its Traffitech-GH National Road Safety program, rescheduling the full implementation by one month. The program is now expected to commence live citation issuance on November 1st, 2026, instead of the previously announced October 1st.
Sensys Gatso Group, a provider of traffic safety solutions, is supporting the program through its joint venture, Nationwide Traffic Management & Enforcement Ltd (NTMEL). The extension allows for an additional month of public outreach and education regarding the new system.
The Ghana Police Service announced the revised timeline, citing the need for further public engagement. This decision aims to ensure citizens are adequately informed about the new traffic enforcement measures before they become fully operational.
The Traffitech-GH program is designed to enhance road safety and reduce traffic violations across Ghana. The system will be used for issuing citations for traffic offenses.
