Ghana Graduates First Community-Based Doula Cohort
Ghana has celebrated the graduation of its first 15 community-based doulas trained to improve maternal health. The program, supported by international organizations, aims to enhance access to care in underserved regions.
Ghana has marked a significant milestone in maternal healthcare with the graduation of its first cohort of 15 community-based doulas. HealthConnect One and Uzuri Birth announced the completion of the training program, which received international diplomatic and organizational support.
The initiative aims to improve access to quality, culturally sensitive maternal and newborn care, particularly in rural areas. The newly trained doulas will provide essential support to expectant and new mothers within their communities.
The training program focuses on strengthening community-based resources for healthcare delivery. HealthConnect One and Uzuri Birth have collaborated to implement this program, enhancing maternal health outcomes in Ghana.
