Ghana implements national automated traffic enforcement system
The government of Ghana has officially launched the Traffitech-GH program, an automated traffic enforcement system supported by Sensys Gatso Group.
The government of Ghana commenced live citation capture for the Traffitech-GH National Road Safety Program on November 1, 2026. The initiative utilizes automated enforcement technology to monitor road compliance and process traffic violations across the country.
Sensys Gatso Group is providing technical support for the program through its joint venture, Nationwide Traffic Management & Enforcement Ltd (NTMEL). The venture is responsible for maintaining the systems that detect and record traffic infractions, marking a significant expansion of digitized law enforcement infrastructure in the region.
This deployment follows previous announcements made in September 2026 regarding the collaboration. As the program moves into its operational phase, the technology is expected to provide a framework for automated traffic oversight aimed at improving road safety protocols in Ghana.
