Ghana's Swiftway Digitalizes Freight Forwarding for African Businesses
Ghanaian startup Swiftway has launched a digital platform for freight forwarding, targeting African businesses. The service handles the entire process of air and sea freight, customs clearance, and haulage.

Ghanaian startup Swiftway launched in June 2025 a digital freight forwarding platform designed for African businesses. The service manages the complete process of air and sea freight, customs clearance, and haulage across international corridors including China, the UK, the US, Turkey, and Dubai.
Founded by Abubakar Sadick Fuseini and Suleiman Abubakar Sadique, Swiftway enables business owners to ship goods internationally and vice versa, bypassing complex brokers, paperwork, and hidden charges. The freight forwarding industry in Africa is dominated by either opaque, unreliable informal brokers or large multinationals that are too expensive for most SMEs.
To date, the platform has onboarded over 540 active business clients and has a waitlist exceeding 19,000 registered users. Growth has been driven by digital marketing and word-of-mouth referrals. The company is currently closing a US$100,000 pre-seed funding round and is expanding into Nigeria.
Swiftway operates on a service fee model covering freight, customs clearance, and transport coordination. The company has billed approximately US$71,000 in revenue since launch while remaining bootstrapped. The plan is to become the leading digital freight forwarder in the West African corridor within the next three years.
