This growth is largely driven by a pool of gig workers, predominantly women, who provide services for companies like Urban Company, Snabbit, and Pronto. Despite the boom, these workers often contend with challenging conditions and inconsistent incomes.
Gig workers frequently spend considerable time waiting between assignments or for transportation. Lacking adequate shelter in inclement weather, they wait at street corners, bus stops, or roadside tea stalls. Earnings are contingent on completed jobs, with waiting periods often stretching for hours.

An initial promise of a minimum monthly income has been replaced by a tiered system (Diamond, Gold, Silver) based on customer ratings and logged hours. This adjustment may impact the earnings and overall work experience of the professionals.
