Gigabyte's AORUS AI BOX Brings Desktop Graphics Power to Laptops
Gigabyte has launched its new AORUS AI BOX peripherals, connecting to laptops via Thunderbolt 5 to offer desktop-class graphics and AI acceleration.
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd has introduced two new AORUS AI BOX graphics peripherals, designed to extend the capabilities of portable workstations. The AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX and AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX utilize Thunderbolt 5 connectivity to deliver desktop-grade graphics and AI acceleration for mobile users.
The higher-performance AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX is positioned for demanding tasks such as local AI model inference, 4K gaming, and professional content creation. It features 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM and is suited for complex AI inference and studio-grade rendering, as well as accelerating 3D modeling in intensive applications.
The AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX offers a more balanced solution. Equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, it is suitable for efficient AI workloads and gaming at resolutions up to 2K. Its compact size makes it a portable accessory, offering performance comparable to laptop GPUs between the RTX 5070 and 5080.
Both AI BOX models include additional ports beyond Thunderbolt 5, such as USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C, and RJ-45 Ethernet. They are designed as plug-and-play solutions for Thunderbolt-equipped laptops, enabling enhanced performance without requiring a separate desktop tower. The choice between models depends on user priorities: maximum performance or portability.
