Gigawatt AI acquires Data Fusion Solutions to bolster grid outage analytics
Gigawatt AI has acquired Data Fusion Solutions to integrate 11 years of historical outage data and geospatial capabilities into its utility software suite.

Chicago-based Gigawatt AI has completed the acquisition of Data Fusion Solutions (DFS), a provider of outage tracking and geospatial mapping services. The deal integrates a decade of U.S. power outage history—totaling 26 million incident points—into Gigawatt’s Power module, a platform designed for regulated utility operations.
The acquisition provides Gigawatt with nationwide data covering 1,200 utility companies, allowing the firm to enhance its predictive modeling for service restoration times. CEO Joe Berti stated that combining historical outage trends with real-time meter and customer data is essential for improving the accuracy of communications regarding power status.
Gigawatt plans to incorporate DFS's mapping and alert technology into its Utility Data Fabric. The integration aims to help utility operators manage service inquiries more efficiently by providing clearer visual and historical context for outages without requiring a full replacement of existing core billing or management systems.
