GigU Makes Driver Profit Tools Free Nationwide, Launches on iPhone

GigU, a software application designed to assist gig drivers in evaluating trip profitability, has announced its full app will be available free of charge to all U.S. rideshare and delivery drivers until the end of 2026. This initiative coincides with the app's first-time launch on the iOS platform, significantly expanding its reach to a larger segment of the gig worker population.

The app, now accessible on both iOS and Android devices without a subscription fee, aims to provide drivers with greater transparency into their earnings. Previously, users needed to pay to access GigU's Cherry Picker and NetProfit tools, which calculate the potential profit of each trip offer against a driver's actual operating costs before acceptance.

Existing paying subscribers who joined GigU before September 1 will receive an additional year of free access as a loyalty reward. The company reports that drivers utilizing its tools have experienced earnings improvements of up to 30 percent by strategically selecting trips based on their personal cost analysis.

This move toward wider accessibility comes at a time of increasing labor organization among gig workers in the U.S. New legislation in California, for example, has paved the way for rideshare drivers to unionize. While formal negotiations with platforms may take time, GigU's free tools offer drivers immediate access to data that can help optimize their income.
