Girl Scouts Adds New Online Cookies for Dogs and Allergy Sufferers Amid Price Increases

Girl Scouts of the USA has announced two new cookie varieties for the upcoming 2027 cookie season, expanding its offerings with products focused on online sales. The new additions, Patch Pals and Sparkables, aim to cater to a wider audience, including pets and individuals with dietary restrictions.

Patch Pals are the organization's first cookies developed exclusively for dogs. These soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored treats were created in partnership with Bark, a company known for its BarkBox subscription service. Each dog treat features one of four patch designs representing Girl Scouts, Community, Exploration, and Play.

Sparkables represent the Girl Scouts' first allergy-friendly cookie. These are crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles, developed with Partake, an allergy-friendly food company that is a Black-owned, women-led business and Certified B Corp. The cookies are nut-free, gluten-free, and vegan, produced in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens.

Both new cookies will be online exclusives, available only through the Girl Scout cookie website for direct shipping. Online ordering begins January 12, 2027, though availability may start earlier in some regions. Online sales have grown in importance since the first fully online exclusive, Raspberry Rally, was introduced for the 2022-2023 season.

The introduction of new products comes as the cookie program faces rising costs and some sales challenges. Cookie prices have increased to between $6 and $7 per box, up from around $5 a few years ago. In some areas, like Western New York, Patch Pals will cost $9 and Sparkables $7. The organization has also seen a significant decline in membership, resulting in fewer girls participating in cookie sales.
